I’ve done extensive benchmarks using several IDE drives and the Raptor, using several different benchmark programs, and the Promise is much faster.
After raidd i then changed the ones on the sata controllers to non raid. Raid 1 will not give you any performance boost since its only mirroring the two drives, but RAID 0 is fast, and with your two raptors Asus does not indicate this and I’m still waiting for a response from their help-desk.

Seems to have installed some SCSI drivers too. This defies logic, but the Promise controller has massive buffering which obviously overcomes the PCI data bus. The User’s Guide is bad and confusing.

On boot up, it would BSOD. Only they know and I’ve been wondering that for months. I installed XP pro, service pack one in 16 minutes. Had my Windows set up on one drive, wanted to go to Raid 0.
