I don’t want to worry with replacing the motherboard or buy all ws440bz components as I intfl happy with the current setup but would like a litte speed boost with the upgraded processor. If you have any experience with this board, please share them here.
I have spoken to Gateway tech support and searched the tech support website about the processor upgrade possibilities for this motherboard. Does anyone have this motherboard running a coppermine processor either as an upgrade or as it originally came from Gateway?
As I stated above, my main concern is the ability of my motherboard to support these lower voltages. My primary concern is the core voltage requirements of the coppermine processors which are lower than the Katmai processors. The price and market launch date of Samsung C34H are unknown yet. I Can’t wait to find one of those one day.
Regarding multipliers, is it too difficult to understand that it does not matter what multiplier you set either on the motherboard or slocket unless you have engineering sample CPU with unlocked multis? First off, you will have to flash your bios. BIOS and everywhere else shows Mhz fine. There is no material that is knowingly illegal here.
