Isn't this adding an additional personal bias to the judging? Shouldn't the entry be judged on its own merits? One (of the many) things I have learned from your own mead making skills is the fine art of blending meads for competitions. Wouldn't that obviate your concern? Hown could the judge evaluate the age of a blended mead?
