I was waiting for the time when they all sang and the book went musical! Here, the setting and era of the story are clear from the beginning, and the evil Jawahal is given a backstory that’s perhaps too detailed, raising rather a lot of questions.
On the night Mr. If his books are available to me, I continue to read every single one of them. Notwithstanding the somewhat predictable foundation of the plot and the tacky little parts scattered in the storyline, I enjoyed this book immensely. He kept getting better and better until genius struck him with Shadow.
Other books in the series. The atmosphere of this book, while set in Calcutta, is not too far off from his later books set in Barcelona Shadow of the Wind, Angel’s Game. I am not sure if this is a spoiler, though I don’t think it really is, but I’m giving you a fair warning anyway, as it has a lot to do with the foundation of the story. I medlanoche the Chowbar society members, all of them and I was more sympethtic to Jawahel -villain- but Zafon my man this thing sounded like a movie from Bollywood! With such a colourful cast, it was easy to imagine yourself in that dilapidated house and I liked how his children actually act like children, too.

If you’ve read his stuff and read this, fl you’ll probably know what I mean. Aryami was there to warn Mr. Sheere was raised by Aryami, but they never stayed too long on the same place, they were always moving and hiding. But I did genuinely like the ending, which seemed oddly melancholy and downbeat for a teen book.
